Prediabetes

Prediabetes occurs when blood sugar levels are above normal but not high enough for a type 2 diabetes diagnosis. It serves as an alert that you're at risk for developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke without lifestyle improvements.

At this critical stage, changes like better diet, more exercise, and weight management can help prevent diabetes. Regular check-ups and medical advice are key to managing and possibly reversing prediabetes.

Are you at risk for prediabetes?

Did you know?

The American Diabetes Association states that individuals aged 45 with prediabetes face a 10-year risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, which ranges from 9% to 14%.
Prediabetes is a widespread condition, affecting an estimated 84 million adults in the U.S. This includes more than one-third of adults under 65 and half of those over 65. Alarmingly, over 80% of those with prediabetes are unaware they have it, often because the condition typically shows no symptoms.
