Intravenous Therapy

What is IV Vitamin Therapy?

Intravenous (IV) therapy is used to give drugs through a tube or needle into a vein. Medication, vitamins, blood, and other personalized fluids can be injected into the veins.

IV Therapy delivers nutrients, vitamins, and medications directly into your bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system for maximum absorption and faster results. This method ensures that your body receives the full benefits of the treatment without any loss in potency.

The risks of IV Nutrient Therapy include and are not limited to bruising at insertion sites, mild discomfort, local vein inflammation at site of IV placement, severe allergic reactions, nausea, blood pressure and blood sugar changes.

Why choose IV Therapy at NES™?

The are generally a recommendation made by your doctor for your condition. Your doctor is involved in deciding the best IV for you and you have had to have some basic lab testing done and established as a patient in order to receive an IV treatment.

How frequently can I receive an IV treatment?

Typically, this decision is made between you and your doctor and this depends on the outcome of your therapy. Generally, this can be done as frequently as once a week to once a month.

What can I do to prepare for the IV?

Come hydrated, eat well before you have an IV (if you forgot to eat, we always have snacks available 🙂 We have you sign a form to consent to treatment and to give us an idea of how you generally tolerate IVs (if any) in the past and to tell us about your last meal in case you didn’t eat.

Does IV therapy hurt?

We pride ourselves on our skilled staff and their techniques in administering IV therapy. Most patients hardly feel the infusion, describing it as a quick pinch. We tailor each IV therapy to meet individual needs, ensuring it is comfortable and well tolerated. After the treatment, we dispose of the tubing and catheter and secure the site with a compression bandage, which you can wear for up to 10 minutes if necessary.

How will I feel after an IV?

Most patients enjoy receiving IV Nutrient therapy because it helps them feel energized, recovered, hydrated and feeling well again. Sometimes, people will notice urine color changes due the water soluble vitamins that can be excreted after the infusion.
